What ID Verification Guidelines does Ramp follow?

The Know Your Customer (KYC) process helps Ramp verify every user's identity, which helps to protect all user's identities.

Updated over a week ago

At Ramp, we prioritize keeping our users’ data secure, making Know Your Customer (KYC) verifications critical. A KYC verification helps Ramp ensure that every user conducts transactions on their behalf and weed out potential impersonators.

Accepted documents

Below are the following acceptable documents (which must be valid for at least 3 months before the expiry date when submitted to Ramp) for the ID verification process:

  • Passport

  • Residence permit

  • Driver's license

  • Identification card

  • Government-issued ID

It’s important to note that depending on your current location, you might be required to submit a Proof of Address (POA) along with your ID Verification; for more information, see our POA Verification Guidelines.

General guidelines

Keep in mind the following requirements when submitting your documents and photos:

  • Check that your document is valid for at least three (3) months before the expiry date (from the date it’s presented to Ramp)

  • Ensure the entire document is visible, including all edges in the frame and data stripes on most passports

  • Double-check that all photos and document details are clear and easy to read (have no glare)

  • If you are using a National Identity Card or Driver’s License, a photo of both the front and back of the document must be presented

  • Upload only original images, which should be in full color

Are you experiencing difficulties? If you're having issues with the imaging quality, we recommend trying to change your browser or use another device if possible.
