What PoA (Proof of Address) guidelines does Ramp Network follow?

The Proof of Address (PoA) process helps to verify a user's address using an official document.

Updated over 3 months ago

In addition to the ID verification, depending on the country, Ramp Network requires proof of address (PoA). PoA should be an official document from a government agency, utility company, or bank that lists the user's residential address.

What documents are accepted for PoA verification?

Please ensure your PoA document has been issued within three (3) months from the date of submission to Ramp Network. The name on the PoA document must match the name on the ID document. Remember, users cannot submit the same document twice for ID and PoA verification.

✅ PoA documents we do accept:

❌ PoA documents we don’t accept:

  • Bank statement

  • Utility bills

  • Internet/cable, TV/landline phone bill

  • Tax returns

  • Council tax bills

  • Government-issued certification of residence

  • Debit or credit card statement

  • Recent payslip, payroll statement, or similar document from your current employer

  • Screenshots

  • Mobile phone bills

  • Medical bills

  • Receipts for purchases

  • Insurance statements

What requirements does the PoA document must meet for KYC verification?

  • Ensure your PoA document includes your full name, address, date of issue, and company logo.

  • Capture a photo of the document in a well-lit area to ensure all details are readable and visible.

  • Submit either a photo or PDF file of the document. Screenshots are not accepted.

  • Provide an official document, such as a bank statement. Handwritten PoA documents are not acceptable.

  • ID documents, such as passports, and PoA documents from family members are not acceptable.

  • Avoid submitting any documents from the "we do not accept" list for your PoA.

  • All details on your PoA document must be at least partially in the Latin alphabet, with all other necessary details being readable in the Latin or Cyrillic alphabet.

When completing the PoA verification, you will also need to provide a valid ID document. Here are some points to keep in mind when submitting your ID:

  • Check that your ID document is valid for at least three (3) months before the expiry date (from the date it’s presented to Ramp Network).

  • Ensure the entire document is visible, including all edges and data stripes (for passports).

  • Make sure all photos and document details are clear and easy to read with no glare.

  • If using a National Identity Card or Driver’s License, provide photos of both the front and back.

  • Upload only original images in full color.

  • 🇨🇦 For Canadians, a provincial health insurance card is also acceptable; include both the front and back of the card.

For the final step, it is required to submit a "selfie video" for the 'liveness check' along with your ID and PoA documents.
